Congratulations Mark & Darlene!

Trish & I had the pleasure of photographing Mark & Darlene's wedding yesterday, We traveled from Bedford, to Amherst county, to their wonderful new home in the mountains near Wintergreen Ski Resort. This was small and intimate, as weddings go but they certainly didn't skimp on class. The awesome flowers by Claudia's Florist were breathtaking! An expertly catered meal and dancing into the night. The groom even broke open a box of cigars to finish the evening. All in all this was a beautiful night and we are so happy for them both! S

Guest Books!

Who looks at the guest book? The bride and groom traditionally use it to keep track of who came to the wedding and who to send thank you cards to. Not anymore! These guest books will find a place on the table right beside your albums. Select 10 or more of your favorite portraits from your engagement and or bridal sessions and bind them in these contemporary hard back books, complete with dust jacket. Call us and let's talk about creating one for you!

Jackpot!

OK, this was one of those days. I had an appointment to meet a new bride, outside a place I had never been before, The Parlor by Choppers in downtown Lynchburg. It was where the bride had booked a room for the reception dinner. I waited outside the front door on Main street for 15 minutes past the appointed meeting time like a numb skull I forgot that there was a side door. Luckily I wasn't that late. I found on entering a full on 5 star barbershop and salon for men!
Whoa! This place is different. Honestly, for a moment, I thought I was in Charlotte or Richmond. You can get a hot towel straight razor shave and your shoes shine too on the way out! Downstairs is a full service spa with massage, manicure and foot treatments while you watch the game on a giant plasma screen TV. This place is FINE, and the prices are right too. I was really impressed to find such a place in Lynchburg, it goes back to the kind of full service five star places that were common 100 years ago. If you are in town, and want to relax and get the full service man pamper going on, this is your place!

Candace!

Trish & I had a blast photographing senior rockstars Candace and her best friend, Jessica last weekend. Candace has two wonderful "mutts" she brought along too. I for one will be glad to see the fall season, this day was still classic Virginia summer, hot & humid. The girls did great though, I almost melted. Thanks again guys, we had fun!!

Sara + BFF Brittany

Sara and Brittany came out for a short photo session last weekend. They have been friends since kindergarten, and it's always great to have great models that will work for ice cream! They both just began Middle school this week and are doing great! We just drove downtown and shot some in a narrow old alley by the hardware store and near the Library and a neat old wall. Thanks girls!!

Turtle Island Adventure!

Trish & her mother, Betty, took Sara out shopping today, and left the guys on their own today, so we took advantage of the situation to go have a guys afternoon. I took John out for an afternoon hiking around Turtle Island here at Smith Mountain Lake State Park. We splashed in the surf, found an old rocking chair in the middle of the woods, looked for buried treasure, and fought off pirates! We had a great time together. I really am blessed. This little guy calls me his best friend.
John will be 6 years old on the 14th. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I can't tell you how much small moments like these mean to me. We were in the deliveryroom on September 14th, 2001. It seemed like the whole world was falling apart and we had serious concerns about the safety of our nation. Yet God saw fit to bless us with this new life, we knew everything would be O.K. but I remember it being such a surreal time in our lives, like we were literally in the eye of a hurricane. Well, the hurricane went home with us, his name is John. He just finished up his first week of first grade. He's my good buddy, like most almost 6 year old kids, he hears what he wants and some things you thought he didn't, he is quick to share what he has with anyone, and amazes me with his kindness. I could go on, but I will save that for next year.
